Tower Proposal
A condominium proposal at Kingston/Quebec/Montreal is proposed for James Bay and City Council will be holding a Public Hearing about this in the near future. Just so you know, city planners do not support this proposal, while many councillors do, all in the name of ‘more housing’.
Victoria’s average incomes average $55K and household incomes average $100K. This proposal WILL NOT BE RENTAL, WILL NOT PROVIDE the housing we need for the majority of our residents.
At https://www.victoria.ca/city-government/mayor-council/public-notices-hearings is info about the process and where the hearing date will be posted.
On this same page is the Development Tracker link where you can read up on ALL development proposals within the city boundaries. This is a is a helpful tool to keep track of any development applications of interest, view associated documents and communications between the developer and city, with contact information for the applicant and staff.
If you are curious to see an agenda for a public hearing, check out the writ- ten council agenda, links and video for the Roundhouse held Jan 11/24: https://pub-victoria.escribemeetings.com/Meeting.aspx?Id=1c8dcc6d-709e-46d9-b4d9-7f750d16fdfd&Agenda=Merged&lang=English.
